Reuben horst, griefshare facilitator
Born and raised right here in Rockingham County, in a
minister’s home, Reuben was exposed to a variety of cultures and experiences
early in life. He grew up on a dairy farm, was educated in Christian
schools, and married an awesome woman who lived four miles from his home.
They have three incredible adult children and one grandchild who lives in
Arizona. Reuben felt called into ministry at a very young age… a calling
that was shared by his wife, Ruth Ann. He has served as a missionary in
Jamaica, and pastored churches in Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
He received his M. Div. degree from Eastern Mennonite Seminary. Having retired as NBC’s Pastor of
Congregational Care, Reuben continues to direct GriefShare, lead a fellowship
of retired men and a care group, mentor several men, and serve as chaplain at
the local hospital. His hobbies include gardening, fishing, Sudoku,
jigsaw puzzles, and camping. He is known for his laughter, compassion,
and love for Christ.
